Two health care fights that have been grinding through state politics now have fresh pressure from Washington.
In one, Missouri lawmakers who have spent years trying to open the door to psychedelic-assisted therapy for veterans are watching the VA move ahead with a new clinical trial. In the other, states are getting new federal guidance on Medicaid work requirements — and not much time to build the systems needed to enforce them.
