Good morning,
Missouri’s congressional redistricting fight has started to feel almost endless: a new map, another lawsuit, another court ruling and another appeal. Monday’s 8th Circuit decision was only the latest turn.
But voters could put a major barrier in the way of Republicans trying again before the 2030 census. If they reject Proposition A and approve Amendment 6, lawmakers could need 80% support in both chambers — plus another statewide vote — to enact a similar map.
And the same amendment could also create entirely new legal questions about how Missouri draws congressional districts after the next census.
