In the 28th state Senate District, Dr. Sam Alexander paints his chief opponent, state Rep. Brad Pollitt, as part of a political system that has failed the district. A political action committee backing Pollitt is asking voters to view Alexander as an irresponsible scofflaw who shouldn’t be elected to office.
The negative tone of those direct mail messages from the Rocker P Brand PAC, however, have created a rift with his early Pettis County backers who don’t want to be associated with the message.
Chuck Lentz, a former teacher and current administrator, is also in the race for the seat that encompasses nine counties in southwest Missouri and includes the cities of Sedalia, Bolivar and Clinton.

We have some very important elections this year. Elections have consequences, and a lot is riding on how we vote, or worse, if we choose not to vote at all. There are concerted efforts at the national level and across many states to make it more difficult to exercise that power.
We cannot afford to sit silently by and allow such efforts to win.
