Missouri unions, abortion rights groups found common cause

A generation ago, Missouri labor unions and abortion rights groups didn’t always have much use for each other. That changed slowly, through years of legislative fights and some hard lessons about what happens when movements fight alone.

Now the alliance has helped win battles over right-to-work, Medicaid expansion, paid sick leave, abortion rights and the initiative petition process.
