Missouri politics and a $35 million Ponzi scheme

Good morning,

Much of the coverage of Siddharth Jawahar’s $35 million Ponzi scheme has focused on one victim: Travis Kelce.

But buried in the federal court file is a very Missouri story. Before sentencing, Jawahar agreed to pay Jeff Roe’s Axiom Strategies $10,000 for favorable publicity and support letters. Prosecutors say the effort produced a newspaper article and a letter from U.S. Rep. Sam Graves urging just four years in prison.
