Good morning,
Missouri lawmakers created a seat for an active classroom teacher on the State Board of Education in 2018. For eight years, it remained empty.
That changed Thursday, when Gov. Mike Kehoe appointed Park Hill High School math teacher Michael McDonald to the advisory role. Kehoe also named former St. Louis Mayor Vince Schoemehl to a voting seat on the board, which is preparing to select Missouri’s next education commissioner.
