Good morning,
Gov. Mike Kehoe vetoed nearly $53 million from Missouri’s $50.7 billion state budget, a relatively small slice of state spending. But he also froze $441 million — money lawmakers approved that agencies now cannot spend unless he releases it later.
Missouri’s revenues are running behind projections, its pandemic-era surplus is shrinking and state officials are warning that the next budget may not have enough cushion to maintain current spending.
